The York Olive Festival to be held 24 & 25 June 2006 is planned to promote high quality olive oil, olive products and other food products of the Avon Valley in a relaxed rural setting.

As part of the festival we will be holding an Extra Virgin Olive Oil competition, culminating in an Awards Presentation dinner.

We are seeking expressions of interest from individuals and organizations with products to sell, and who wish to be involved in the marketing opportunities arising from the festival. Last year over 7000 people visited the Festival, and more are expected this year.

Festival Program

Friday 23th June: Celebration Awards Dinner where the winning olive oils will be announced.

Saturday & Sunday 24th & 25th June are planned to be Fiesta Days – with food, music and loads of fun for all the family. There will be entertainment, a children’s play area, The Farmyard on Wheels, and visitors may taste many new season oils and table olives. Celebrity chefs will perform cooking demonstrations. Entrance for the public will be free, ensuring maximum crowds to enjoy these days.

Extensive advertising is being conducted throughout the Wheatbelt and in Perth in magazines and newspapers The West Australian and The Sunday Times.

The York Olive Festival will focus on the wonderful fresh food products available in the region...

Stallholders encouraged to attend are food products, horticultural products, & agricultural products. Some fashion & cosmetic lines may also apply. The Fiesta will be held in the open in Peace Park on Saturday and Sunday and should the weather be unkind, it will be moved to undercover sites nearby. Limited powered sites are available and will be allocated strictly on a first come first served basis. The cost of unpowered sites will be $77.00 per stall for 1 day, or $110 for both days (incl. GST.) Professional overnight security will be provided from 8pm to 6am, so that equipment may be left on the grounds.
